Britain's carbon dioxide emissions decreased by 2.9 percent in 2019 and have decreased by a full 29 percent since 2010. At the same time GDP has increased 20 percent.

The decline from 1990 is 41 percent and the level is now the lowest since 1888.

Carbon dioxide emissions from coal power have fallen by 80 percent in the last decade in the UK. The coal power plants now account for two percent of total electricity generation.

There are now only six coal-fired power plants in the country and the plan is for these to be closed in 2025.

In 2019, coal power was not used at all for 85 days.

Wind power generation increased by 14 percent in 2019, and plans are underway to expand during the decade, mainly with offshore wind farms.
